Thank you,
Palo Alto!

To our brave neighbors, friends and family who give so much to make us stronger together:

During the current public health crisis, so many of you are sacrificing your education, your livelihood, even your own health and well-being so that we can all remain safe. To all of you, we want to say thank you!

"Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer to the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of thy pledge... Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed..."

"The honor and distinction of the individual consist in this, that he among all the world’s multitudes should become a source of social good."

A moment of appreciation from the Bahá'ís of Palo Alto

This site was created by the Bahá'í children's class program in Palo Alto, as as a way to recognize in others the virtues that we have been studying, including gratitude, selflessness, and sacrifice—virtues that express our true nobility, bind us together as a community, and bring out the best in all of us.

Bahá’ís, living and working in tens of thousands of localities across the globe, are striving to contribute to a process of community building in which acts of worship and efforts to promote the common good are woven together. Everyone willing to participate in this process is welcome. Its purpose, is to help raise the capacity of more and more people to take charge of their spiritual, social, and intellectual development so that they come to see themselves as active agents of both their own and their communities’ progress, rather than passive spectators of events beyond their control.
